Our community will be kicking off the weekend by welcoming a guest representing another country.
Konstantina Athanassiadou, the Greek Ambassador to Canada, will be visiting the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville on Friday.
Athanassiadou will meet with Mayor Nancy Peckford in Kemptville in the morning to see the Greek flag raised outside the North Grenville Municipal Centre.
Afterwards, she’ll take a tour of Vichos Honey, a local business owned by a Greek family, before heading to meet Brockville Mayor Matt Wren after lunch.
She’ll conclude her trip by visiting the Hellenic Orthodox Community Church in Brockville before attending a private dinner in Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
If you want to see Athanassiadou, her meeting with Mayor Wren outside Brockville City Hall will be open to the public at 2:15 PM.
