The Town of Prescott is considering adopting a new noise bylaw that would put restrictions on loud activities like construction.
The bylaw would make it illegal to rev your car’s engine, play loud music outdoors without a permit, and make other loud noises that could disturb residents, with a few exemptions for things like mechanics’ shops.
It would also restrict loud construction from 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays, and from 11:00 PM to 9:00 AM on weekends and holidays.
If the bylaw passes, you could be fined up to $600 for not following the regulations.
Council will vote on the bylaw at its next meeting on June 5th.
