UCDSB approves 2023-24 school year budget

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is investing millions into teaching kids about Indigenous issues, looking after students’ mental health, and upgrading old technology. 

The board has approved its budget for the 2023-24 school year.  

The total budget comes out to $424.2 million, about $25 million more than last year. 

Other highights include a 7.2 percent increase in the board’s Special Education budget, nearly $3 million in math and literacy funding from the Ministry of Education, and a $2.1 million investment in “experiential learning” programs that give kids hands-on education.
