Local teenagers can earn some community service hours while getting a rundown on budgeting and money management next month.
The Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau has announced the return of its “Youth Financial Literacy” online workshop.
The program helps young people learn the basics of managing their finances by teaching them about things they might not learn in school like debt and credit.
It’s split across two sessions that will run for an hour and a half, starting at 7:00 PM on June 6th and 7th.

High school students who take part can earn up to ten volunteer hours to put towards their community service requirement.
