CN Rail announces rehabilitation and repairs coming to Johnstown railroad crossing

Some work on a railway crossing in Edwardsburgh-Cardinal is expected to cause traffic delays in the area.

Township staff say the Canadian National Railway Company plans to do some rehabilitation for the Frederick Street crossing in Johnstown.

Staff members say the crossing will be reduced to one lane during the day and will close to all traffic from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM, while workers smooth out the surface to make it safer for drivers and trains.

They add that a crew will be on site overnight to make sure emergency vehicles can get across safely.

The work is set to start the morning of June 6th, and end in the afternoon on June 8th.
