Young eastern Ontario filmmakers have about two weeks left to enter a competition with a $1,000 grand prize on the line.
The organizers of the annual MyView Youth Film Festival, a competition for people between the ages of 10 and 24 years old, are reminding participants that the deadline to make a submission is May 1.
Submissions need to be five minutes or shorter, with cash prizes for the best overall film, the best in each of three age categories, and a $750 “I Love My Community” prize for a film showcasing a local area.
If you’re making an entry for the contest, you’ll need to follow the festival’s “tobacco-free” policy, which bans showing the use of tobacco in submissions unless it’s directly related to the film’s message.
