If you’re going to be traveling through Augusta this spring, you might need to plan around a detour.
The township has announced that starting next week, a portion of Diamond Road will be closed to traffic, with access restricted at the bridge.
Staff members say the closure is happening so workers can do repairs and maintenance on the bridge.
While the road is closed, a detour route is being set up along Hall, Kyle and Branch Roads.

The closure begins on Monday, April 3rd, and will last until June 30th.
