South Grenville Senior Rangers eliminated from EOSHL playoffs

Despite leading at the end of both the first and second periods, the South Grenville Senior Rangers lost their elimination game in the Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League (EOSHL) playoffs.

The team lost game 3 of its quarterfinal series against the North Dundas Rockets on Saturday, 9 to 5.

The Rangers took an early lead and ended the first period up 4-1, but the Rockets scored four goals in each of the following periods to take the win.

Forward Zachary Lefebvre led the Rangers in points with two goals and an assist, while the Rockets’ Adam Beveridge matched those numbers to lead his team.

The Rangers finished this year’s regular season with three wins, 14 losses, one tie, and two overtime losses.

The team earned a spot in the quarterfinals by beating the Cornwall Prowlers twice in the wildcard round.

They lost all three playoff games against the Rockets.

The Rockets are the reigning EOSHL champions, after defeating the Gananoque Islanders in last year’s finals.

They’re now set to take on the South Stormont Mustangs in the semifinals.
