Kindergarten registration open at CDSBEO schools

The local Catholic school board has started accepting registrations for kids to begin kindergarten in the fall.

The Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario (CDSBEO) opened registration for the 2023-24 school year on Monday, January 16th.

In order to be eligible to start junior kindergarten, your child needs to be turning at least 4 years old before the end of 2023. Kids turning 5 by the end of the year are also eligible to be registered for senior kindergarten instead.

In order to sign your child up, you’ll need to provide the school board with their birth certificate, as well as something like a utility bill as proof of your address.

If your child has been baptized Catholic, you’ll need to provide their baptismal certificate. Otherwise, there’s a form you can fill out to request the admission of a non-Catholic student.

What school your child will be eligible to attend will depend on where you live. The CDSBEO website has an online tool you can use to find the closest schools to your home, and a list of schools hosting open house events for parents to learn more about them.
