Naples, Florida has claimed the unofficial title of Pickleball Capital of the World but with the schedule at the Leo, Prescott may take away their title.
It’s a sport that’s a little like ping pong and a little like badminton with a solid paddle, a 3 inch hard plastic ball and an over 36 inch high net. Opponents on each side hit the ball back and forth until one player commits a rule infraction. There’s great debate if the game was named after boat crew races or a dog but whatever the origin the game seems to be growing in popularity.
You can try your hand at Pickleball at the Leo Bovin Community Centre 9-11am Mondays and Wednesdays and 6-8pm Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The cost is $5 for drop in or $30 for a monthly membership.
