South Grenville municipalities offering disposal for residents’ Christmas trees

With the holiday season over, South Grenville residents have a number of options for getting rid of their Christmas trees. All three municipalities in the area are offering residents help in disposing of the trees.

If you live in Prescott, you can leave your Christmas tree curbside this week and have it picked up along with your normal garbage. You’ll need to remove any decorations or tinsel or the tree won’t be taken. You can find the 2023 waste collection schedule on the Town’s website.

Meanwhile, people in Cardinal, Spencerville, New Wexford and Johnstown can also leave their trees curbside for pickup by the Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal, or bring their trees to its Scott Road Transfer Station. Trees are being picked up until January 13th, as long as they have no decorations or tinsel.

Workers with Augusta Township say residents there can bring their Christmas trees to its North Augusta Waste Transfer Station, which is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Each municipality’s website has more information on their waste management programs and the kinds of items they’ll accept and collect.
