Augusta residents can now sign up for their burn permits for next year.
According to an announcement on social media, Augusta Fire Rescue has made the permits available online ahead of the New Year.
Permits are required for all open-air burns in town, and residents are also being asked to call its “Open Burning Hotline” the day they plan to do the burn, to make sure it’s safe. You’ll receive the number to call when you get the permit.
Anyone who owns land within the township boundaries will be able to request a permit for themselves. If you’re renting an apartment or other living space owned by someone else, your landlord will need to apply on your behalf.
Permits are free. Augusta Fire Rescue’s social media pages have the link you can use to request one.
