Food Bank Executive Director talks holiday hours, Food Drive Challenge

Bonnie Pidgeon Coogler is thanking all the residents of South Grenville for their contributions to the recent “Holiday Food Drive Challenge.”

The competition, organized by the Town of Prescott, Township of Augusta and Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal, saw the three communities collecting donations of non-perishable food items for two weeks, with a portion of the food going towards the Food Bank.

“I just, from the bottom of my heart, thank people so much for going that extra mile,” Coogler says. “Especially when their own lives are busy, and the prices keep on going up. So, thank you.”

For people that use the food bank, Coogler says its holiday hours have also been finalized.

“We don’t shut down between Christmas and New Years,” she says, “but we are closed on Boxing Day, the Monday, and we’re also closed on Monday, January 2nd.”

She says the Food Bank will also close a few hours early, at 1:00 PM, on Friday, December 30th, but if you need something that day and can’t make it before then, you can call the office in advance and someone will stay behind to help you.

Beyond that, Coogler is wishing all South Grenville residents a great 2023 and a happy holiday season.
