Prescott’s neighbor to the west brought in the most donations for two local charities in a friendly competition over the past few weeks.
The results from the South Grenville “Holiday Food Drive Challenge” have been announced.
The competition saw Augusta, Prescott and Edwardsburgh-Cardinal competing to see which community could bring in the most donations of non-perishable food items over the first 15 days of December.
According to a post on the Town of Prescott’s social media pages, Augusta Township collected the most food, with Edwardsburgh-Cardinal coming in second place.
The food is being divided between the Kinsmen Club of Prescott’s Spirit of Giving program and the South Grenville Food Bank.
Town staff members are thanking everyone across all three communities who donated for their contribution to helping struggling households over the holidays.
