$9.29-million in provincial infrastructure funding coming to Leeds-Grenville-Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes

A $400-million investment from Ontario’s Community Infrastructure Fund is bringing some money for improvements to the Leeds-Grenville area.

MPP Steve Clark has announced that $9.29-million from that investment will be going towards his riding, including more than $475,000 for the Town of Prescott.

“I am encouraged to see our government once more demonstrate its support for rural areas,” Clark says, “and recognize the importance of renewing and expanding the infrastructure that undergirds Ontario’s economic success.”

Matthew Armstrong, the Town of Prescott’s Chief Administrative Officer and Treasurer, says the money will be spent on repaving projects and supporting things like rehabilitating the Edward Street overpass.

Other municipalities receiving funding as part of the investment include Brockville, Gananoque and North Grenville. The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville is also receiving more than $4-million.
