OFW: Outdoors Cards, fishing, small game license renewal opens December 6th

Hunters and anglers will be able to renew their paperwork for the New Year next week.

Ontario Fish and Wildlife says Outdoors Cards, fishing licenses and small game hunting licenses will be available for purchase and renewal starting Tuesday, December 6th.

Outdoors Cards are required for both hunting and fishing, and if you purchase your fishing or small game license alongside the card, they’ll be printed onto the back, so you’ll be able to take them with you easily.

The cards cost $8.57 before sales tax. You can get a small game hunting license for one year for $22.76, or for three years for $68.28.

Two different kinds of fishing licenses are available – “sport” licenses, which offer full catch and possession privileges, and “conservation” licenses that have smaller catch and possession limits, for people who intend to release most of what they catch.

One year sport licenses cost $26.57, and single year conservation licenses cost $15.07. Three year versions are also available, and cost $79.71 for a sport license or $45.21 for a conservation license.

You’ll be able to buy or renew your cards and licenses online, over the phone, or in person at some ServiceOntario locations. The Ontario government’s website has more information.
