Gauri Shankar began his first term as Prescott’s Mayor by thanking residents for their role in October’s municipal election.
“This is going to be a great council, I’m really looking forward to this group working together around this table, for the best of Prescott,” Shankar said at his term’s inaugural meeting Tuesday night.
Shankar went on to say he thinks Prescott’s council has been doing good work for the past 12 years, and he wants to continue the positive trend.
“We’ve had a few hiccups with, you know, everything that’s been going on in the world, but we kept our head above water, we’ve done well, and we’re going to continue to do well, and I’m really looking forward to it,” he explained.
Shankar concluded his remarks by thanking his family for their support. The next Prescott council meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 21st.
