Brockville Police got a quick lesson in beekeeping on the weekend when they had to quickly help manage a swarm. Around 5:00pm on Saturday police began receiving phone calls about bees swarming in the area of Parkedale and Stewart. The bees had taken up residence in a highway sign in the median of west bound Parkedale Ave. at Stewart.
A local bee keeper was contacted by a passing motorist who offered police his assistance. Police blocked traffic while the beekeeper captured the queen bee. With the queen captured the remainder of the bees dispersed.
