A local nonprofit organization has started an initiative to help low-income families celebrate Thanksgiving.
The House of Lazarus, an outreach group that runs food banks and second-hand stores in Mountain and Ingleside, is organizing a food drive for the holiday.
Several common Thanksgiving foods are being collected for the initiative, including turkey, stove top stuffing, and side dish ingredients like potatoes.
A full list of requested items can be found on the House of Lazarus’ social media pages.
You can drop items off from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays, or until 6:00 PM on Thursdays.
Donations are being accepted at the organization’s South Mountain office until next Friday, October 7th.
