Prescott’s Mayor is calling this year’s Terry Fox Run fantastic.
Discussing the run at this week’s Town Council meeting, Brett Todd says the run was enjoyable despite it being a rainy day.
“Terrible inclement weather through a good chunk of the morning,” Todd says. “It obviously opened up, right around 11:00 when things started, just in time to soak everyone.”
Todd also says he’s happy about the number of people who took part in the Terry Fox Run this year, and is thanking the organizers of the event.
“I hate singling out anyone who’s involved in a team effort, but I’ve gotta mention Art Hitsman and Marcus Shaw, who have done just tremendous work on that for so many years,” Todd adds.
According to Director of Community Services Samantha Joudoin-Miller, between online donations and participation on the day of the run, this year’s event in Prescott raised more than $7,000 for the Terry Fox Foundation.
Donations are still being accepted online. You can find details for how to donate on the Terry Fox website.
