Prescott Museum and Visitor Centre moving to new fall hours next week

With the summer tourism season winding down, the Town of Prescott has decided to keep its museum open for a few extra weeks before the end of the year.

The Museum and Visitor Centre, which opened in May after multiple construction delays caused by the pandemic, is transitioning to new “fall hours” starting in September.

Currently, the facility is open from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM every day of the week. Once the new hours take effect, it’ll only be open on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, but the operating hours won’t change on those days.

According to a report from Samantha Joudoin-Miller, the Town of Prescott’s Manager of Community Services, staff will also be working with local schools to give classes educational tours of the Museum during the fall.

Joudoin-Miller’s report also says the money to keep it open for the fall will come from the town’s Community Services Department budget, and won’t require any additional funding from elsewhere.

The new hours take effect after the Labour Day long weekend, and will last until the Museum closes for the year on December 17th.
