Reminder: last hazardous waste day of 2022 coming this September

You’ll only have one more chance this year to get rid of any batteries, propane tanks or pool chemicals you’re looking to throw out.

The last day the United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will be collecting household hazardous waste is September 17th.

Anyone living in the United Counties, the Town of Prescott or the Town of Gananoque will be able to drop off their items. That doesn’t apply to Brockville residents, however, as the city held its own collection event on August 27th.

You’ll be able to leave your hazardous waste at the Spencerville Fair Grounds, or at the North Grenville County Patrol garage south of Kemptville, from 8:00 AM until 2:30 PM on the 17th.

Some items, like bullets, explosives and e-waste, won’t be accepted. You can find a full list of what will and won’t be allowed on the United Counties website.
