Registration open to take part in Spencerville Fair Parade

With the 167th annual Spencerville Fair a few weeks away, residents and business owners now have a chance to claim a spot in the Parade. The Spencerville Agricultural Society has opened registration to enter floats into the Parade.

Floats with livestock, antique or vintage vehicles, music and other elements are allowed, but not 18-wheelers. Throwing items from a moving vehicle is also banned, so if you want to give out candy or other items to people in the crowd as part of your float, you’ll need to hand it out carefully.

The roughly 1.8 kilometre route for the Parade has also been released, which will see floats move through the fairgrounds, cross Stoan Street, and finally turn onto Centre Street, walking past the United Church and Town Hall before stopping outside St. Lawrence O’Toole Catholic Church.

The deadline to register a float is September 8th, the first day of the Fair. You can find a map of the route, a detailed breakdown of the rules for floats, and a registration form on the Spencerville Fair website.
