Town of Prescott approves Alzheimer Society “toll road” fundraiser

The Alzheimer Society of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville is coming to Prescott next month.

The organization’s request to host a “toll road” fundraiser in town has been approved by the Town of Prescott.

The Brockville-based charity, which supports local dementia patients, will have volunteers collecting donations from drivers outside Walker House on King Street, similar to a fire department Boot Drive.

A similar event hosted by the Alzheimer Society last year raised $2,525. All the money is going towards financially supporting the families of dementia patients in the area.

This year’s event is happening on September 21st, World Alzheimer’s Day. High school students can earn volunteer hours for taking part in the fundraiser. You can find contact information on the organization’s website if you’re interested in taking part.
