A fundraiser collecting money for Alzheimer’s research might be coming to Prescott next month.
The Alzheimer Society of Lanark, Leeds and Grenville, a Brockville-based organization that supports dementia patients in the region, has submitted a request to run a “toll road” fundraiser in town on World Alzheimer’s Day.
According to the Town of Prescott’s Manager of Community Services, Samantha Joudoin-Miller, the event would be similar to a fire department boot drive, collecting donations from drivers.
Last year, the organization held a similar event, which raised $2,525. If Council approves the request, it’ll be happening on King Street on September 21st, from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM.
Council will vote on whether to approve the request at the next council meeting on Monday, August 22nd.
