Price Point Johnstown, Food Bank talk most-needed items for “Full Tank” initiative

South Grenville Food Bank Executive Director Bonnie Pidgeon Cougler says the annual “Full Tank” event isn’t just about collecting food.

“The most needed items are juice boxes, granola bars, apple sauce, instant oatmeal, shampoo, soaps, toothbrushes and toothpaste,” Coogler says about the program, which is meant to help support kids in low-income families ahead of the school year by providing them with lunch and hygiene products.

Amber Vanderzwet, a Client Care representative with the Price Point car dealership that hosts the initiative, says juice boxes are particularly important this year.

“Juice boxes were something that the food bank had outlined as a need moving forward anyway,” she says, “so we try to get as many juice boxes as we can. Last year, I sent at least 12 juice boxes in every bookbag, which was awesome.”

Donations are being collected for the initiative all month long at Price Point Auto and Detailing in Johnstown. The dealership’s social media pages have more details.
