Prescott residents will have an easier time seeing oncoming traffic at the King and Center Street intersection starting in a few days.
The Town of Prescott has announced plans to remove some parking spaces next to the intersection.
“The traffic sightlines at [the intersection] are poor due to the adjacency of the buildings to the streets and the on-street parking spaces,” town staff say.
“To improve the safety of pedestrians crossing the streets and to reduce potential vehicular incidents, several parking spaces at [the intersection] will be removed next week.”
Five spaces are being removed in total: two from either side of King Street and one from the south side of Center Street. The Town of Prescott’s Facebook page has a satellite image of the intersection with the parking spots highlighted.
Removal starts on Tuesday, July 12th.
