Mayor Brett Todd is thanking Art Hitsman for everything he’s done in Prescott over the years.
“Art’s kindness and respect for all has impacted many people,” Todd says, “and created a positive, inclusive, and tremendous sense of community.”
Todd named Hitsman Prescott’s “Volunteer of the Year” at the town’s annual Community Awards ceremony this week, celebrating the accomplishments of people and businesses in the community over the past year.
Hitsman works alongside local sports leagues as a volunteer, and also helps organize the “Spirit of Giving” charity events during the Christmas holiday season alongside the Kinsmen Club of Prescott. He says he’s honoured by the recognition.
“I’m super thankful for my friends and family, who have wholeheartedly supported me in all these endeavours,” Hitsman says.
“I love our friendly little Fort Town, and I will always do what I can to make it a better place to call home.”
