“Bring it home”: Brockville Braves executive talks local player in Memorial Cup

According to assistant general manager David Graham, the Brockville Braves organization is “100 percent behind” Gavin White.

White, a former Braves player from our area, advanced to the Memorial Cup final alongside the rest of the Hamilton Bulldogs last night with a win against the Shawinigan Cataractes.

“It’s pretty exciting for the organization,” Graham says. “This is the first time, I think, we’ve had a player go to the Memorial Cup from our organization, from the Brockville Braves’ [under-18] program.”

The annual tournament sees the three best teams from Canada’s major junior hockey leagues, as well as a fourth host team, compete to decide a national champion.

This year, the final match will see the Bulldogs take on their hosts, the Saint John Sea Dogs.

When asked if he has a message for White, Graham is encouraging towards his former player.

“Just bring it home,” Graham says. “Like, bring the entire championship home, and then, you know, celebrate with your friends and family.”

If you want to watch the final, it’s happening on Wednesday, June 29th, at 6:00 PM.
