Morrisburg man charged with 1980’s sexual assault

Ottawa Police have charged a Morrisburg man with sexual assault. The 72-year-old was a teacher with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board in the 1980s. Investigation shows the man inappropriately touched one of his male students during that time. On June 15th, the senior was arrested and charged. Officers are concerned there may be other victims.

Constable Chuck Benoit says when victims report these incidents, it helps investigators to identify suspects and determine crime trends.

Benoit says police will respect a victim’s wishes to pursue or not pursue the matter before the courts.
