Be careful doing your laundry for the next few weeks.
The Town of Prescott has announced that it plans to flush its hydrants from 7:30 AM until 3:30 PM throughout the month of May.
While the water is being flushed, the town says you might notice your tap water is slightly discolored.
According to the town, this is completely normal and doesn’t pose any health or safety risk, but could stain your clothes if discolored water gets into your laundry.

If you start to notice discolored water, it recommends you run your taps until it becomes clear again.
It also suggests running your taps before using your washing machine, to make sure the water is clear first.
