You might want to reschedule any plans you had for a bonfire today or tomorrow if you live in Augusta.
Due to warm, dry weather coming into our region over the next few days, the township has issued a temporary burn ban.
“The combination of dry and windy conditions will allow for fine fuels, such as dead grass and leaves, to completely dry out,” Augusta Fire Rescue says in the announcement.
“Fires could quickly grow and get out of control due to how dry the air will be and the winds.”
The fire department hasn’t confirmed if the burn ban will end before the weekend.
MyPrescottNow.com will update this article when the ban is lifted.
