Habitat for Humanity to start new build in Oxford Mills this week

Habitat for Humanity Thousand Islands will start work this week on their next build, in North Grenville. Habitat’s Martin Van Andel says they are doing something a little different this time, and it brings recycling to a whole new level.

Once the home has been transferred from Spencerville to the lot on County Road 25 north of Oxford Mills, crews will upgrade siding, insulation, flooring, kitchen, bathroom and roof. This week the foundation is going in, along with well and septic. The home will be moved to the site later this summer.

Applications for families wishing to buy the new home are ready and can be picked up at the ReStores in Kemptville and Brockville. Interested families can also go online at www.Habitat1000ilsands.org for the application, income guidelines and other information or call 613-342-3521.
