“Laughs at the Leo” fundraising comedy show scheduled for June 4th

A fundraising event at the Leo Boivin Community Centre in a few weeks will be collecting money to help build Prescott’s new arena.

The show, called “Laughs at the Leo,” will feature Ottawa-based news anchor Matt Skube as the Master of Ceremonies.

Jim Ralph, a former professional hockey player, and David Shoalts, a retired sports journalist who has been doing stand-up comedy since 2016, will also be speaking at the event.

Tickets to attend the show cost $200 each. In addition to the comedy show, your ticket also gets you dinner and access to an on-site auction.

If you run a business in our area, you can also buy a corporate table for you and seven employees for $2,000. Corporate tables also come with two tickets to a wine-and-cheese tasting party at the show.

All the money raised at the event is going towards construction of the Alaine Chartrand Arena, the planned new hockey rink and sports complex in town.

The show is happening on June 4th. If you want to see a few of the items that’ll be up for auction at the event, or buy tickets to go yourself, visit the Laughs at the Leo Facebook page.
