Gordon: Service Ontario battle not over yet

We may have forced the provincial government to take a second look at the plan to close 9 Service Ontario offices across the region, but we haven’t had the plan cancelled yet. More campaigning needs to be done, says North Grenville Mayor and United Counties’ Warden David Gordon.

At County Council last week, Gordon said a municipal delegation is being formed, headed up by Leeds Grenville MPP Steve Clark, to continue in the campaign to keep our local Service Ontario offices open. Clark will be meeting with the Minister of Government and Consumer Services to plead our case.

The proposed closure of Service Ontario offices in places like Morrisburg and Kemptville would mean customers have to travel out of town for some provincial government services.
