A number of community organizations have gotten support from the Town of Prescott.
In their latest council meeting, the Town doled out $41,600 in grant money to several groups in their first round of allocations. These include South Grenville Minor Hockey, Prescott Figure Skating club, Girls Incorporated, the Volunteer Centre of St. Lawrence-Rideau, The Grenville historical society, St. Lawrence Shakespeare, the Fire Department Santa Claus Parade, and Folk Fest.
A number of groups did not receive funding, as they did not apply for funding. However, staff says groups like Fort Wellington Legion Branch 97, Food for All Food Bank, Kings Kitchen and Connect Youth don’t apply for funding until a second round of calls for applications later in the year.
