Oxford Mills restaurant owner wins LGSBC Lifetime Achievement Award

The Leeds Grenville Small Business Centre is celebrating International Women’s Day by recognizing Cheryl Mackie.

Mackie, the owner of The Brigadoon Restaurant in Oxford Mills, received the organization’s Lifetime Achievement Award at its International Women’s Day seminar on Tuesday.

Mackie has lived in our region since immigrating to Canada from England as a teenager, and has run the restaurant since opening it 32 years ago. She’s also sponsored local sports teams and done volunteer work for multiple non-profit organizations in the region.

Leeds Grenville Small Business Centre manager Jeannette Johnson is congratulating Mackie on winning the award, and her three decades of success with her restaurant. “It is an impressive milestone,” Johnson says, “and we appreciate all of her hard work and dedication to her community, to her business and to her family.”
