A record-setting number of babies were born at the Winchester District Memorial Hospital last year.
The hospital’s Chief of Obstetrics, Dr. Roger Perron, says the hospital is celebrating delivering 796 babies in 2021, the most ever delivered there in a single year. “We just celebrated Family Day,” Perron says, “so it seems like a perfect time to celebrate a special year in the Family Birthing Unit.”
Celebrating the deliveries alongside the hospital is the mother of the first baby born there last year. “I could not have done it without such an incredible team,” says Shelby Fraser-Clouthier, whose son Dallas was born on New Year’s Day. “Thank you more than I can ever express! Dallas is doing great.”
If you’re interested in supporting the hospital’s obstetrics department, a fundraising event called “Charlee’s Run” benefitting the hospital is being organized in Kemptville this spring.
