After more than a month of collecting donations, over $6,400 has been raised for Connect Youth by the Leeds-Grenville community.
The donations have been collected as part of the “Coldest Night of the Year”, a nationwide campaign raising money and awareness for homelessness in Canada.
Our local event is taking place in Brockville, with volunteers walking a two- or five-kilometre route through the city on February 26th, with the donations they collect going towards the Prescott-based charity.
According to the Coldest Night of the Year website, our community has raised $6,485 so far, with 51 people signed up to walk the route from places all across the region.
If you’re interested in signing up to participate yourself, or making a donation, visit the campaign’s website.
