Connect Youth resumes after school program at new location

If your child is looking for a place to spend time after school, they’re now able to go to the Leo Boivin Community Centre.

Connect Youth, a Prescott-based charity, is resuming their after school drop-in program at the new location this week.

The program, which lets kids in grades 7 through 12 spend time after school in a public, supervised place where they can play games, sports, and socialize, was previously run in the basement of St. Paul’s United Church. It’s been on hiatus since late last year, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

At the new location, the program will be available for local kids on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM. However, the program won’t be available on February 16th because renovations are being done at the community centre.

There’s no fee for kids to participate in the program, but they’ll need to show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 and fill out a sign-up form.
