Upper Canada District School Board accepting Student Trustee applications

High school students interested in having their voices heard by their school board are running out of time to apply to become a student trustee.

The Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB) is accepting applications from grade 10 or 11 students to become the board’s Student Trustee for the 2022-23 school year.

Whoever holds the position represents other students throughout the region at board meetings. They’re also expected to meet with students from other UCDSB schools and attend provincial Student Trustee conferences in Toronto and Ottawa.

People who apply to become trustees need to be going into grade 11 or 12 at the start of the next school year, be in good standing with their school and the board, and have permission from their parents, if they’re under 18.

Applications are being accepted until Monday, February 14th. The UCDSB website has application details.
