Prescott veterinarian recognized by Ontario Veterinary Medical Association

After nearly 30 years of working in Prescott, Doctor John Donovan has received an award for his veterinary work.

Doctor Donovan has received the “Award of Merit” from the Ontario Veterinary Medical Association, an organization representing more than 50,000 veterinarians in the province. The award is presented annually to someone in the organization to recognize their public service and contributions to their community.

Donovan has been working in Prescott since 1995, and has trained nearly 200 veterinary students from throughout Ontario and across the world. He represents our region in the Ontario Animal Health Network, a group of veterinarians that work together to detect and respond to new diseases in animals. He also does volunteering for sports teams and horse shows locally.

Doctor Alexandra Knoepfli, a colleague of Donovan’s, says he deserves the recognition. “Dr. Donovan has always gone above and beyond for his clients, the animals, his staff and his community,” she says.
