Registration open for Edwardsburgh-Cardinal summer lifeguarding courses

If you want to spend some extra time by the pool this summer, the Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal is offering a program for you.

The Township has announced that pre-registration is opening for summer lifeguarding courses. “Lifesaving Instructional courses,” beginner-level courses for prospective lifeguards, will be held at the pools in Cardinal and Johnstown.

If you’ve already completed the highest level of those courses, and been awarded a “Bronze Cross” certification from the Lifesaving Society, Canada’s national volunteer-run governing body for lifeguards, you may be eligible to apply to take the “National Lifesaving Certification” program and become a certified National Lifeguard.

Registration for the beginner-level courses isn’t open yet, but you can register for the National Lifesaving Certification right now. The event is scheduled for the end of August, with no specified date yet. For registration details, and more information on prerequisites for each course, visit the Township of Edwardsburgh-Cardinal website.
