North Dundas swears in new council member

Mayor Tony Fraser is welcoming Theresa Bergeron into her new role on the Township of North Dundas’ council. Bergeron, who has lived in North Dundas since 1983, was sworn in during this week’s council meeting.

Bergeron was born and raised in Cornwall, and studied at Queen’s University and the University of Guelph before moving to South Mountain. Bergeron is also a member of the Canadian National Goat Federation, a national body representing goat producers throughout the country. She owns a business raising goats on her property and selling socks made from their fleece around the world.

Bergeron’s seat was previously filled by Tyler Hoy, who announced his resignation from council in December. In the 2018 municipal election, Bergeron was the runner-up with the most votes. She’ll be on the municipality’s council until the next election, scheduled for October 24th.
