As winter continues, outdoor skating rinks are opening up across the region.
The Town of Prescott has announced the outdoor rink in Sarah Spencer Park is now open for the season. The rink, between McKenzie Road and Massie Drive, is available for anyone in the community from 9:00 AM to 10:00 PM, any day of the week, if the weather is suitable. Lighting for the rink at night isn’t available right now, but is expected to be up and running by the end of the week.
In a Facebook post, town officials say work is underway to create another outdoor skating area for residents in the harbour area. In the meantime, if you’d rather not skate in Sarah Spencer Park, you can visit North Dundas’ rinks in South Mountain and Inkerman.
