Provincial Flood Watch issued for broadcast area

With heavy rains and winds moving into the area, the province says there is potential for flooding.

The Ministry of Northern Development, Mines, Natural Resources and Forestry says the combination of recent snow melts and frozen ground means they have put all of southern Ontario under a flood watch. The ministry says to keep an eye on water levels in low-lying areas. Strong winds also have the potential to create storm surges on larger lakes. A number of conservation authorities have also issued water safety statements.

The statement covers all of Ontario south of North Bay.
