Museum ribbon cutting, other events coming to Prescott for 7th annual Founder’s Day

The December 4th event, an annual tradition celebrating the birthday of town founder Edward Jessup, was first commemorated in 2015.

This year, the Town has announced the new Museum and Visitor Centre’s ribbon cutting is being held on Founder’s Day. The museum has been in the works since August 2020, and was originally scheduled to open on Victoria Day before delays pushed construction into the fall. The ribbon cutting ceremony is being held at 4:00 PM.

Other events being held on Founder’s Day include horse drawn wagon rides throughout Prescott, the annual lighting of the Town’s Christmas tree at the Clock Tower, and a chance to take a picture with Santa. Proof of vaccination is required for the museum opening and pictures with Santa, and anyone participating in either is also asked to wear a mask.
