Police in Leeds County report they have laid an additional 5 counts of historical sexual assault against a 72-year-old Rockport man. The charges are related to sexual assaults that took place between the late 1960’s and 2000.
An investigation was launched in October 2015 following a complaint. In April, the accused was charged with multiple counts of sexual assault, gross indecency and sexual exploitation. As the investigation continues, police have now laid one charge of rape, along with a count of sexual intercourse with a female under the age of 14, and 4 more counts of indecent assault, among other charges.
As a result of this recent arrest, the accused is charged with a total of twenty-five separate historical sexual offences in relation to thirteen victims. The offences are said to have occurred in the County of Leeds and the City of Ottawa, where he had been a teacher.
The senior citizen was held in custody pending a bail appearance.
