Over $10,000 raised for Winchester District Memorial Hospital at September concert

The Winchester District Memorial Hospital has announced how much money was raised at its Sip, Savour and Support fundraising event last month.

The event, which saw a live concert by Mountain, Ontario artist Marleen Fawcett as well as a silent auction, raised $10,369 for the hospital. Jane Adams, the hospital’s Communications Lead, says the money is being put towards purchasing new equipment, not covered by government funding, for the hospital.

Kristen Casselman, the hospital’s Managing Director, is thanking everyone who came to attend the event. “We also want to thank our vendors,” says Casselman, “who provided some great options from pizza to perogies to moonshine! It was so nice to be all together.”

The hospital is also organizing a fundraiser for the Black Walnut Group, a Winchester based prostate cancer support group. That fundraiser is expected to begin on the first of November.
