Prescott‘s Marc Gomez Segu receives 2021 Leeds Grenville Immigrant Entrepreneur Award

A Prescott businessman has won the 2021 Leeds Grenville Immigrant Entrepreneur Award.

The award has been given to Marc Gomez Segu, the owner of El Rebost de les Mil Illes (‘The Pantry of the Thousand Islands’ in Segu’s first language, Catalan) in Prescott. The Spanish restaurant opened shortly after Segu arrived in Canada in 2014. Outside of his own business, Segu has donated his time and food to local organizations like the South Grenville Food Bank and local COVID-19 vaccine clinics.

The award has been presented by the St. Lawrence – Rideau Immigration Partnership annually since 2014 to commemorate the hard work and dedication of immigrant business owners.

Past winners of the award include the owners of the now-defunct Piccolo Cafe Plus in Prescott, and the families that own the Panache Bakery and 1000 Islands Bed and Breakfast in Gananoque. MyPrescottNow.com has reached out to Segu for comment.
